I bought two of the single units and one of the doubles. Really like the way they went together, and functionally, they work well. What I really DISLIKE is the way they are so UNFINISHED! The bottoms of the shelves and the top piece as well are BLOND...Trust me, it is EXCEEDINGLY noticeable. The units are essentially, TWO-TONED. I would have happily paid a few dollars more for the blonde portions to have been shot with black paint...a task I had my boyfriend do.
One other quick comment, if you are purchasing a unit to go, "with" the double shelving unit available, be aware that the top/bottom edging on the double (of the one we received) is OGEE and the top/bottom edging of the single is radius. Side by side that will not work. Luckily for us we have them in different rooms, so it did not make any difference.
